As new, advanced EVs take over the auto market in China, legacy automakers, including Volkswagen, General Motors, Toyota, BMW, Honda, and Mercedes Benz, will all lose significant market share, according to a new Greenpeace report.

The legacy automakers, who once dominated the market in China, are now at risk of losing their positions to domestic EV makers in the region.

Polestar (PSNY) delays Polestar 3 production, cuts annual target amid record Q1 deliveries

EV maker Polestar (PSNY) hit another record in the first three months of 2023, delivering over 12,000 vehicles in Q1. Despite the strong start, Polestar says it will delay the onset of production of its electric SUV, the Polestar 3, as it finalizes software development. On top of this, the EV is cutting its annual production guidance for the year.

VW general meeting interrupted by activists, cake thrown over EV pace and China labor

On Wednesday, several activist groups briefly interrupted Volkswagen’s annual general meeting. One claimed VW is “making climate-damaging decisions,” and the other says the automaker uses forced labor to build cars in China.
