Stellantis plans to launch seven new Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler vehicles priced under $40,000, and two that will cost less than $30,000.

Jeep’s next vehicle may look a little like the Range Rover or Defender, or vice versa. Jeep and Ram’s parent company, Stellantis, announced a new alliance with Jaguar Land Rover to shake things up in the US.

Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis, announced plans to launch a “groundbreaking” small and affordable electric vehicle that will reportedly start at under $18,000.

BYD wants to take over underutilized plants in Europe from legacy automakers to fuel its aggressive overseas expansion. Executive vice president Stella Li confirmed that BYD is holding discussions not only with Stellantis but also with “other companies too.”

Stellantis’ US operations are in desperate need of new, modern, affordable products that aren’t tainted by the toxic meatheads shredding tires with their Hemi V8s. A new-age Neon, tucked in at just under $20,000 with zippy performance and a simple, unpretentious interior could be just what dealers need to bring in new buyers.

As of today, Jeep, Dodge and Stellantis EVs can plug in and charge on Tesla’s Supercharger network, the largest DC charging network in North America. Stellantis was the last brand set to gain access, so now just about every EV in America can use Superchargers, with the right adapters.
