Yose Power 388Wh portable power station review: Finally a portable battery station for Europeans!

Portable power stations are the 21st century gear that I wish I’ve had for my entire life. With the advent of lighter and smaller lithium-ion batteries combined with small-scale AC inverters, we can finally bring a wall outlet with us wherever we go. And while Electrek has tested plenty of options for North American users, what about all the Europeans out there?

Don’t fear, my fellow sensical-unit-of-measure compatriots! For today we’re checking out Yose Power’s 388 Wh portable power station, complete with both DC output and Type C “Euro-plug” AC port.

CSC FT1000MD high-powered electric bike review: Hitting 34 MPH on a 1,000W fat tire e-bike

csc ft1000md electric bike

One of the many nice things about riding electric bicycles in the US is the freedom to choose from an amazingly wide selection of e-bikes, including some very high power options. I feel for my European cousins who are stuck with their 250W motors, but not as much as I feel the awesome seat-of-the-pants acceleration that I get on the CSC FT1000MD, with its 1,000W mid-drive electric motor.

Lightning Strike electric motorcycle targets 250 mph land speed record, and it just may succeed

lightning strike carbon edition

Richard Hatfield’s electric motorcycle company Lightning Motorcycles is no stranger to speed. The company’s LS-218 bike got its name from a 218 mph (351 km/h) run when it snatched the long-held electric motorcycle land speed record in 2012. But now Hatfield is hoping to push the envelope even further to break his own record with an astounding 250 mph (402 km/h) showing.

Ride1Up Roadster V2 Gravel Edition review: The best low-cost electric gravel bike out there. Period.

I was a huge fan of the affordably priced $1,045 Ride1Up Roadster V2 from the moment it launched last year. So when Ride1Up decided to release a modified version designed as a gravel e-bike, I was extra stoked. The updates, which include gravel-ready features like new disc brakes, a Gates belt drive, and higher-end gravel-friendly tires, pushed the price slightly higher to $1,245. But considering that my next favorite gravel e-bike costs 3x as much, I still call that an amazing deal!

The first time I saw a JackRabbit, I couldn’t help but laugh. For someone that comes from the e-bike world, the proportions are just so funny looking. But the more I’ve thought about it, the more this funny little “micro e-bike” seems like it could solve a lot of problems for urban commuters.

Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week: This $2,000 Chinese electric pickup truck

For all those folks out there that “don’t see color,” do I have an awesome electric pickup truck for you?! The fact that it only comes in pink could be a turn-off for some, but not for you! And the sub-$2,000 price might just help push another few converts towards the coolest electric truck reveal since Chevy threw its name in the ring last month.

The only difference is, you can actually buy this one and it will arrive in less than two years. Though buying an electric pickup truck on Alibaba isn’t quite as simple as that, as I found out last summer. But for now, let’s just take a look at what makes this mini electric pickup truck so awesome, and how it landed a coveted spot as my Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week.

Major electric bicycle company flirts with lower prices on top models after recent price hike

Anyone who has been following recent pricing trends in the electric bicycle industry has experienced quite a roller coaster ride. Prices over the last year or two have repeatedly climbed and dropped as leading e-bike companies jockeyed for position while simultaneously weighing the increasing pricing pressures on the industry.

North American e-bike leader Rad Power Bikes is now raising eyebrows (and sending stomachs into chests if we want to keep that roller coaster analogy alive) as the company flirts with lower prices on two of its most popular models.

Biktrix XD unveiled as mind-bogglingly powerful electric bike motor with 300 Nm of torque

Canadian electric bike company Biktrix has never shied away from high-power motors. Several of the brand’s e-bikes feature what used to be one of the most powerful mid-drive e-bike motors on the market: the Bafang M620 Ultra motor. I say “used to be” because it has now been surpassed by Biktrix’s own in-house developed Biktrix XD motor, and the new motor solves all of the major problems we’ve previously seen with such high-power mid-drives.

Review: New Aventon Sinch fat tire electric bike updated, easier than ever to mount up and ride!

aventon sinch step-through

The Aventon Sinch was already one of the best-quality small-diameter-wheel fat tire e-bikes in the value category, but now it’s gotten even better. That’s thanks to a host of new upgrades from the company, including an ultra-comfortable folding frame with low step-through design that makes it easier than ever to quickly mount up and ride.

And of course Electrek made sure to have the first look at the new Aventon Sinch Step-Through, as I’ve been testing it out ahead of the bike’s launch today.

Double your e-bike’s range? Priority introduces new add-on battery, bumping electric bike’s capacity

priority current range extender battery

I ride electric bikes all the time. It’s kind of my thing. It’s a blast because I get an awesome ride experience without the pain and discomfort that normally comes from a long and arduous pedal bike ride.

But nothing harshes a good e-biking vibe quite like a low battery. So Priority decided to nip that problem in the bud by introducing a range extender battery for its popular Current e-bike, doubling the capacity and thus doubling the e-bike’s range.
