After announcing plans for expanding into the Nepalese market earlier this year, Gogoro is back with updated details for the October launch of commercial operations.

Singapore is the latest stop on Gogoro’s worldwide expansion tour, bringing the company’s industry-leading battery swapping to local riders and expanding the sale of its electric scooters in the local market.

According to a joint announcement, Castrol, a global leader in lubricants and part of the oil giant BP, today announced an investment of up to US$50 million in Gogoro, a global technology leader in battery-swapping ecosystems.

This electric scooter marks a paradigm shift in what is possible for this form factor and with Gogoro’s swappable battery standard.
