Toyota launched the global world premiere of its fifth-generation Prius from Japan this morning. The famed plug-in hybrid sees a new exterior design and will deliver a decent boost to its electric range compared to its previous generation.

EV conversion specialist Lightning eMotors is the latest automaker to try and deliver wireless EV charging to its vehicles. The company announced a collaboration with wireless charging provider HEVO Inc. to implement a program that demonstrates the technology on a Lightning eMotors EV.

As all-electric off-road racing series Extreme E approaches its final X-Prix event of season 2 later this month, it has already announced its race calendar for season 3. While fans of Extreme E will recognize some of the same locations as this year’s championship series, season 3 will showcase races in new territories in the UK and potentially the United States.

Less than two weeks after promising to unveil its full electric sedan lineup with the public, Lucid Motors has officially launched the Air Touring with the Air Pure to follow this year. Even as the lowest-tier version of Lucid’s flagship sedan, the Air Pure is promising 410 miles of range and 0-60 mph acceleration in under four seconds. Delicious.

Luxury, and soon-to-be all-electric brand Genesis is further expanding the availability of of its 2023 Electrified G80 sedan, adding four new states where it will go on sale. That puts the US total to 12 different states as Genesis continues to expand EV availability on its way to becoming fully-electrified.

As legacy automaker Volkswagen looks to electrify its entire lineup of vehicles over the next decade, it is touting accelerated progress today by reaching a milestone of 500,000 EV deliveries a year early. With ten new EV models planned for deliveries by 2026, Volkswagen is capitalizing off growing EV demand with hopes to further accelerate its electrification strategy around the globe.

During a global livestream event from Sweden today, Volvo Cars has officially unveiled its upcoming EX90 SUV, sharing a myriad of safety features, advanced technologies, and sustainable materials that combine within this bespoke EV. Lucid Motors ($LCID) has posted its financial results for Q3 of 2022 ahead of its earnings call with investors later this afternoon. EV production and Air deliveries continue to grow while cash on hand continues to shrink. EV automaker Nikola Corporation has announced a new partnership with EV charging network ChargePoint Holdings Inc to expand charging infrastructure for EV fleets across the United States. Through the partnership, Nikola will gain access to ChargePoint’s entire lineup of charging solutions, including management software, and resell those products to its fleet customers.

Global tech company Foxconn has announced it will invest at least another $70 million and up to $170 million total in EV startup Lordstown Motors. Foxconn’s $70M investment in Common Stock shares of Lordstown will help the company with its corporate strategy, while the two parties are shifting their previously announced $100 million joint venture into a Preferred Stock investment that will fund a “new EV program” run within Lordstown Motors instead.

EU Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton is publicly urging automakers to consider continuing internal combustion engine vehicle production over fears of lost jobs and a future in which middle class consumers cannot afford EVs. Breton may want the EU to remain a “export force” in combustion vehicles, but will anyone still be interested in them as more and more countries set expiries in order to combat the vicious acceleration of global climate change?

EV startup Arrival announced that it has received a non-compliance letter from the Nasdaq Stock Market LLC, informing the company that the closing bid price has been below the minimum $1.00 per share for at least consecutive 30 days. Arrival now has until May to meet the minimum bid requirement to avoid being delisted on the stock market.

Fully-electric, autonomous farm equipment manufacturer Monarch Tractor has announced that the company, alongside its group partners have been awarded a grant of $3 million from the California Energy Commission to accelerate the electrification of agricultural equipment. Furthermore, the companies will demonstrate bi-directional capabilities in the farming equipment to support local electrical grids during power outages brought on by more frequent wildfires.

Autonomous and EV freight technology company Einride shared a myriad of updates during its November Release Event streamed live this week. In addition to announcing plans for a network of charging stations beginning in Sweden and Los Angeles, Einride introduced its second generation autonomous truck and an expansion of its proprietary fleet mobility platform, Saga.

Nikola Corporation continues to show growth as an EV startup still recovering from the wrongdoings of its defamed founder, reporting increases Tre BEV deliveries and revenue according to its Q3 2022 report. According to its financial results report for Q3 2022 released today, Fisker remains on schedule to begin production of its flagship Ocean SUV two weeks from now. The American EV automaker is also reporting over 62,000 combined reservations and orders ahead of a four phase production plan that’s expected to produce 42,400 units by the end of 2023. Outside of the Ocean, Fisker also shared a progress report of its second EV – the PEAR.
