But the planned merger between the two would have allowed them to share EV-development costs — and finally deliver electric cars on a large global scale.
But it now appears that negotiations to finalize the merger are being threatened by the coronavirus.
Peugeot is ramping up its electrification efforts with another multi-powertrain vehicle that can be configured with an all-electric powertrain: the e-2008 electric SUV.

A few months after unveiling their new e-208 electric hatch, Peugeot has already added the car to their configurator in Germany.
The lowest option level available is €30,450 for the base “Active” trim (incl. 19% VAT). Germany has a €4,000 EV incentive, so that translates to €26,450 after incentives.
Peugeot and the rest of the PSA Group don’t have many all-electric vehicles on the market, but they plan to change that in the next few years starting with the unveiling of a new all-electric version of the 208 hatch.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Dario Resta’s and the Peugeot L45’s (pictured above) victory at the Indianapolis 500 race, the French automaker unveiled its latest race car concept which it presents as its vision of the future of motor sport – and it’s electric!
The L500 R Hybrid is a plug-in race car with an extremely low-profile of only one meter. Peugeot is claiming a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration in just 2.5 seconds.

France-based automaker Peugeot announced a new electric vehicle concept: the Fractal. The vehicle is only an early concept and the specifications should be taken with a grain of salt. Early renderings show an interesting design for the small 2-door coupé which the company aims at making very light, weighting in at only 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs).
