The Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter 3 continues to build upon Xiaomi’s strong start in the electric scooter space, making small tweaks to features that needed improvement, yet having enough sense to leave the good stuff alone. The result is an electric scooter that still feels every bit like a Xiaomi, but has now become the company’s best rendition yet.

Daring 60 MPH electric scooter racing league to begin drafting male and female riders

We’ve followed the development of the eSkootr Championship (eSC) since its inception in mid-2020. There’s just something about racers on 60 mph (100 km/h) electric scooters speeding around a track while standing up that boggles the mind.

Early reports of the nascent racing league saw its developers working to turn the eSC into a respectable organized racing event, and recent signs show that effort has been largely successful as the league prepares to draft the first racers. The group is also working on shirking many of the common barriers to racing today, such as economic hurdles and gender inequality.

Awesomely Weird Alibaba EV of the Week: A shady passenger-carrying drone

I’ve finally done it, folks! Ever since I started this Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week column, where I search for crazy EVs on China’s largest shopping platform, I’ve been hunting for an electric passenger aircraft. I was hoping to find some type of ultralight plane, but it’s been pretty tough.

Don’t get me wrong, you can find all sorts of ultralight deathtrap aircraft, but they’re all gas-powered. Alibaba is definitely full of shady-looking EVs that seem near death-defying (remember that one-wheeled electric motorcycle?). But for the life of me, I just couldn’t find an electric aircraft.

Largest US e-bike company Rad Power Bikes reveals new price hikes across lineup

Seattle-based Rad Power Bikes announced earlier this month that prices for its electric bicycles models would be increasing. The move is forced by major pricing pressures on the e-bike industry, including rising costs of raw materials like aluminum, a weakening dollar/RMB exchange rate and sky-high shipping costs.

Now the company has provided full details on the new higher prices.

Electric Bike Company’s ‘made in America’ e-bikes are key to its success. Here’s why

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to visit the sprawling new production facilities for California-based Electric Bike Company (that’s an advantage to being an early mover in any industry, you get to pick the good names). The company has been building electric cruiser bicycles in Newport Beach since the mid-2010s. And as founder Sean Lupton-Smith proudly explained to me as I toured the factory grounds, they wouldn’t have it any other way.
