Electric boat developer Arc is venturing into the commercial sector by building an electric tugboat that will serve the Port of Los Angeles later this year. The retrofitted 26-foot ship will feature Arc Boats‘ electric powertrain and software technology.

Another day, another exciting post from Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe sharing images of the upcoming R2 EV. This is the third R2 update from Rivian in as many days, as the American automaker’s second flagship model configuration inches closer to full-fledged production.

American EV automaker Rivian has shared its full financial report and shareholder letter for Q1 2025. The quarterly update details continued gross profits and a growing interest in the company’s two flagship BEVs. Rivian is also making headway in developing its second model, R2.

Shortly after announcing a strategic partnership with May Mobility to offer robotaxi rides to customers in the US, Uber has secured a second driverless tech company amid plans to scale the technology to new regions. Following a new partnership with Momenta, Uber will also expand robotaxi rides to Europe.

Rivian has completed an extensive remodel of its space in the Meatpacking District of NYC, which has been reimagined as the American Automaker’s first “concept experience.” These spaces will rotate themes and locations to give visitors and Rivian owners unique spaces to hang out and explore the adventure EV brand.

Lotus Technology Inc. announced that Geely, the majority owner of its vehicle manufacturing business Lotus UK, exercised its put option earlier this week to sell its 51% stake in the latter company back to the former company. Cutting-edge yacht and electric catamaran designer Sunreef Yachts has unveiled its latest generation of solar skin technology. The silicon solar cells, designed in-house by Sunreef, are now more efficient, durable, and bolstered by AI optimization. As such, Sunreef is calling its Solar Skin 3.0 technology a “visionary leap toward the future of yachting.”

EV charging solutions provider Chargetronix has unveiled a new state-of-the-art distribution system alongside its third-generation chargers. The 1,280 kW system can charge up to 16 electric trucks from each cabinet, and Chargetronix’s next-generation chargers will serve both fleet and passenger EVs.
