Ford has started to deliver the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck, but some dealers are taking advantage of the demand. One of them was spotted doubling the price of the electric pickup by adding a $69,000 markup.

Ford has been providing an adapter to F-150 Lightning electric pickup buyers that enables them to charge stranded Tesla vehicles.

An early Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup did a real-world towing test with a 23-foot Airstream trailer. It showed a loss of about half the vehicle’s range.

United Rentals announced an agreement with Ford Pro to purchase hundreds of EVs to support its fleet sustainability goals for North America. The initial order is for 500 F-150 Lightning pickups and 30 E-Transit vans. The Ford EVs will begin deliveries to United Rentals later this year to be use by both the rental company and its customers.

Automakers worldwide will spend more than a half trillion dollars to develop new electric cars and passenger trucks, and also on battery manufacturing, through 2030, according to the latest report by London-based sustainability consultancy firm ERM for the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).
