Ford Motor Company has unveiled a new companywide strategy to its dealership network of nearly 3,000 locations. Ford dealers have been alerted that they have until October 31 to decide whether they will invest their own money into one of two “certified” EV tiers to partake in Ford’s Model e business. Only those dealers who buy in will be authorized to sell EVs from January 1, 2024, onward. There’s a lot to unfold here, so let’s get right to it.

As EV adoption begins to grow, many drivers will face early charging issues since they’re not used to the charging process, which differs from a gas station visit. While there is certainly a learning curve, the process is relatively simple for most people. However, others may need a little more assistance. To help solve this issue, Ford Motor Company is trialling a robotic EV charger system that less mobile users can activate from their phone without leaving the vehicle, offering a new level of inclusivity that the EV community embraces.
Ford announced today that it managed to secure 60 GWh of battery supply in order to achieve an annual production run rate of 600,000 electric vehicles by the end of next year.
The automaker also confirmed a move to iron-phosphate (LFP) cells to help achieve the goal.

According to a report earlier today, Ford Motor Company is planning to cut as many as 8,000 jobs, pertaining mostly to positions in the American automaker’s internal combustion division. EV-scale solid-state battery cells have come one step closer to reality in Louisville, Colorado, where Solid Power announced it will begin pilot manufacturing of solid-state cells. A recent report states that global battery conglomerate CATL is in the final stages of vetting potential sites to bring EV battery production to the US. Ford delays Android Automotive, confirms 2022 models, F-150 Lightning included, can’t be upgraded
One of Google’s biggest partners for Android Automotive in the US market is Ford, but the carmaker has just announced that its transition to its Android system is well behind schedule and will be delayed by a few months.
Ford has officially started full production of the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center.
The company compares the significance of the moment to the launch of the Ford Model T.
