Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, and Fiat vehicles will remain eligible for the credit after the deadline expires. Stellantis confirmed it will replicate the offer for EV and PHEV models.

If you were waiting for the range-topping electric Dodge Charger, you might be out of luck. Jeep and Dodge maker Stellantis is shelving plans to launch the Charger Daytona SRT Banshee EV, which promised to outmuscle the SRT Hellcat engine.

A recent AAA poll shows that just 13% of Americans trust self-driving cars, leaving 87% either unsure about, or “too afraid” to give up the controls. At the same time, it seems like Stellantis is giving up on its highly-publicized AutoDrive Level 3 ADAS.

Is this the beginning of the end of self-driving hype?

Chrysler parent company Stellantis is sinking billions on electric Jeeps and Chargers that no one wants, but the they’ve developed market-leading EVs in Europe, and this latest, £36,995 DS Automobiles No4 is exactly the sort of electric crossover that could rejuvenate the brand’s American prospects. The only question now is: why won’t they bring it here?
