Jeep is preparing to launch several new fully electric vehicles in the US within the next few years, including the Recon 4xe and Wagoneer S. The EV concepts were recently shown at a dealer’s conference for the first time in person. Check out the images below.

Jeep is charging ahead with its plans to become the “number-one electrified SUV brand” as it unveils its first pure electric vehicle, the Avenger. The rugged SUV maker says its new EV concept carries the Jeep brand into the future with “best-in-class capabilities” for on- and off-road driving.

Jeep, the rugged SUV maker, says it will be releasing four new all-electric EV models in the US and Europe by the end of 2025. The move comes as part of the automaker’s plan to hit 50% electric vehicle sales in the US by 2030 and 100% in Europe.

One of the largest global automakers, Stellantis, posted its first-half earnings for 2022. Stellantis’s electrification strategy is paying off so far as it takes second place globally in BEV and low emission vehicle (LEV) sales.

Multinational automotive manufacturer Stellantis has officially joined the electric revolution by recently outlining its blueprint for net zero carbon emissions by 2038. The conglomerate’s strategy, called Dare Forward 2030, calls for 50% of US vehicle sales and 100% of European sales to be BEVs by the end of the decade. Stellantis also teased two upcoming EVs under its marques: Jeep’s first electric SUV and a Ram 1500 BEV pickup said to deliver some leading performance.

Each week I go spelunking into the caverns of the Alibaba electric vehicle catalog and find something awesome, weird, and usually surprisingly low-cost to share with the world. Remember when the coolest kids on the block had those ride-on PowerWheels Jeeps? Well, just because we’re adults now doesn’t mean we can’t still have the same type of fun. This week’s entry for the Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week is a fun-looking little electric Jeep with room for two adventure-loving adults.

Jeep has been promising up to four new electric vehicles for more than two years. So it would be easy to dismiss Christian Meunier, Jeep’s chief, when he makes new claims about his outfit as “the world’s most sustainable SUV company.” But his interview today on Autocar reveals a new type of EV message: raw performance. That should excite both 4×4 buyers and EV fans.

Carlos Tavares, chief executive of Groupe PSA (formerly PSA Peugeot Citroën), was already ambivalent about EVs. A few weeks ago, he said, “We are selling our electric vehicles to green addicts.” Fiat Chrysler has also been reluctant to invest in electric vehicles. But the planned merger between the two would have allowed them to share EV-development costs ­— and finally deliver electric cars on a large global scale.

But it now appears that negotiations to finalize the merger are being threatened by the coronavirus.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced that it is investing $4.5 billion in five of its existing Michigan factories and part of that investment is going to enable plug-in electric Jeep production and possibly all-electric vehicle production in the future.
