BMW claims to have now delivered ‘more than a quarter of a million *electrified vehicles’

For the past few years, BMW claims to be leading the electrification of the auto industry (see image above), but it has a murky way to make this claim by using the term ‘electrified vehicle,’ which is becoming increasingly popular among legacy automakers.

Now, the German automaker is claiming that it has “delivered more than a quarter of a million electrified vehicles.”

BMW unveils new all-electric iX3 SUV with 250 miles of range and 150 kW charging

As expected sinec they have been teasing the vehicle, BMW opened the Auto China 2018 show in Beijing with the unveiling of its next all-electric vehicle: the BMW iX3.

The German automaker claims a range of 250 miles of range for the all-electric SUV, which is expected to go to market in 2020 and interestingly, BMW confirmed that it will be first produced in Shenyang, China by its BMWBrilliance joint venture.

BMW unveils an all-electric version of the classic Mini – its third electric Mini concept

For a while now, BMW has been saying that its next all-electric vehicle after the i3 is going to be an electric Mini, but instead of unveiling the production vehicle, the German automaker has been unveiling electric Mini concept vehicles one after the other.

This week, it is unveiling the third concept electric Mini vehicle: “the classic Mini Electric.”

The new BMW i8 Roadster convertible will start at $163,300 in the US, coupe $147,500

BMW has just released pricing for the new BMW i8 Roadster, which goes into production next month, according to BMWBLOG.  The starting price will be $163,300, putting it in position as the most expensive BMW available in the US.

The BMW i8 coupe has also been updated, and will set you back $4,100 more than last year’s model, with a base price of $147,500.  BMW is taking orders now at your local dealership and cars should be hitting dealerships in April or May.

BMW now says that its Tesla Model 3 competitor iNext will have an insane 435-mile range

BMW is promising a series of new all-electric cars starting next with the first all-electric Mini, but the most anticipated one is the 2021 iNext electric vehicle, which the German automaker has been positioning as a Tesla Model 3 competitor.

They are now hinting at a major range increase for the upcoming vehicle.

BMW unveils new i8 Roadster and Coupe with more electric range

BMW made the plug-in hybrid i8 sports coupe part of its electric ‘i’ brand despite the fact that it is barely an electric vehicle with only about 15 miles of range.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show today, the German automaker is unveiling an updated version of the vehicle with a slightly bigger battery pack for more range and a new roadster version to go with the coupe.

BMW to issue stop-sale / recall on all BMW i3 models sold in America

Over the weekend rumors started floating around on social media about a possible stop-sale and recall on all the BMW i3’s sold in the United States of America. This morning BMW came out with an official statement, confirming that, during recent testing by the National Highway Safety Administration, it was discovered that the BMW i3 (BEV and REx) marginally exceeded one particularly edge case of the many Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard criteria with respect to frontal impact performance.
