Tesla Powerwall arrives in Germany – Memodo receives large shipment and cites high demand

Germany-based solar energy component supplier Memodo confirmed having received a large shipment of Tesla Powerwalls this week and that installations will start soon.

Memodo CEO Daniel Schmitt claims that his company is the first Tesla Energy distributor to receive the new home battery pack in Germany and he shared the picture seen below.

Tesla is sending out Powerwall installation surveys to Model S owners

Today Tesla started sending out Powerwall installation surveys to Model S owners who requested the product after its unveiling in May 2015. A week after the launch, Tesla reported over 38,000 requests for the Powerwall, but those weren’t official reservations with deposits.

This latest development will likely be a better representation of the demand since the company is asking for a lot more information about the installation of the home battery pack.

Tesla now offers free Powerwalls through its referral program – the top referrer already sold 88 Model S’s

Three months ago Tesla announced a referral program for Model S owners. By referring someone who ends up buying a Tesla Model S, the owner gets $1,000 credit from Tesla to put toward accessories, service or a car, and the new buyer gets $1,000 off his new Model S. The program is only in a “trial phase” until October 31, but the deadline is also a competition for top referrers.

Today, less than two weeks before the end of the trial, the automaker upped the ante by announcing that those who make 5 referrals will receive a Tesla Powerwall for free…

New Zealand’s Vector to giveaway 130 solar installations with Tesla Powerwalls

In an effort to promote renewable energies, Vector launched a new campaign this week to offer 130 free 3 KW solar installations each equipped with Tesla’s new stationary energy storage battery pack, the Powerwall.

Soon after Tesla unveiled its series of energy storage products in April, Vector announced a partnership with the Silicon Valley car manufacturer to make the new products available in New Zealand.
