Tesla has signed a deal with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to massively expand its Tesla Supercharger presence at Turnpike Service Areas, as well as build utility infrastructure for non-Tesla charging stations.
Tesla has been working on a Trans-Canada Supercharger route for more than a year now, and today it finally went live, all at the same time.
Even better, most of the locations have Tesla’s new 250 kW V3 Supercharger. These allow a Model 3 to add about 100 miles in seven minutes.
Just in time for Thanksgiving road trips, Tesla has pushed out a software update that greatly increases Supercharging speeds for many Model 3 drivers: up to 170 kW for the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+), and up to 200 kW for the Tesla Model 3 Mid-Range (MR). Previously, the SR+ capped out at 100 kW, and the MR at 120 kW.
Tesla’s rollout of new Supercharger V3 stations has been slow, but it is about to ramp up – including with a large new 28-stall station to connect Los Angeles and Phoenix.
