I like to say that the strange and fun vehicles we dredge up each week for the Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week column cover everything on land, sea, and even in the air. But every now and again, we go past mere wheels, wings, and hulls to something truly category-defying. I’m not sure how to classify this electrically powered backyard roller coaster this week, but I sure am glad that it exists.

Ice cream trucks evoke a certain nostalgia that is difficult to replicate. But at a time when large combustion engine trucks are being replaced left and right, what is to come of cold confection-slinging vehicles? Perhaps they can be replaced by this Vespa-looking ice cream scooter instead.

Tiny homes are a fun way to live off-grid with minimal footprint, and houseboats have their own charm. But what happens when you combine them with a semisubmersible design? I guess you end up with the trifecta that we see here today!

With car bloat so prevalent on US roads these days, you’d be hard-pressed to find a compact car in any typical parking lot. But if everyone is arming up with SUVs, then I’ll just have to go even bigger with my own double-decker bus. Since a 9,000 lb. Compared to many of the funky-looking EVs we find for the Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week column, today’s entry is dangerously close to being almost normal. In fact, it actually is fairly normal in China, where smaller and less expensive EVs are quite common.

China’s online shopping site Alibaba is chock-full of interesting electric vehicles with all sorts of wacky designs. And for this week’s entry in the Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week, a super low-cost electric jeep like this looks just about as fun as it does oddly proportioned.

Liftgate trucks are the workhorses of the delivery industry, combining heavy-hauling capacity with the ability to load or unload at street level instead of needing a loading dock. When I occasionally buy the weird Alibaba vehicles that I’ve become known for, I always have to ask the delivery company, “Do you guys have a lift gate truck to deliver at my house?” But perhaps I’d be set if I bought my own cheap electric liftgate truck instead.

My regular readers will know that I’ve got quite a thing for golf carts. They’ll also know that I write a regular weekly column finding the coolest (and sometimes weirdest) electric vehicles in the massive online shopping catalog that is Alibaba. So when those things collide, well, that’s what we call serendipity, folks! And that’s exactly what happened this week with the discovery of this fun Jeep-like electric golf cart!

There’s something oddly endearing about miniature-sized vehicles that can still carry adults. It’s true with electric micro-cars, and apparently, it’s true with micro-boats as well. But don’t take my word for it. You can be the judge with this fun-looking mini electric jet boat!

There’s no form of wheeled transport, whether for recreation or utility use, that is safe from the sweeping wave of electrification. Those maintenance-prone, expensive and carcinogen-spewing combustion engines are on their way out in nearly every industry, not the least of which includes lawn-care. The only problem is that the larger and fancier zero-turn electric lawn mowers are usually pretty pricey when they go electric, at least until now.
