The Autopilot is Tesla’s advanced assisted driving program with features like Autosteer, Autopark, and Trafic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC).

The hardware suite was first introduced in Tesla’s vehicles in September 2014. The company gradually released more and more advanced features through over-the-air software updates until the first meaningful “Autopilot Update” in October 2015 with the release of v.7.0 of Tesla OS.

Tesla’s next-gen Summon feature will be able to find parking spot and read instruction signs, says Elon Musk (updated)

Elon Musk has been promising some major improvements to Tesla Autopilot’s Summon feature, and now he has now released some new details.

The CEO now claims that the next-gen Summon feature will be able to navigate parking lots of its own, find a parking spot and even read signs for parking instruction to avoid tickets.

Tesla’s approach to autonomous driving is rather simple – albeit hard. It has some radar and ultrasonic sensor technology but the goal is to drive based on computer vision with cameras feeding into a neural net system that it is able to recognize what it sees – much like a human.

Tesla decreases the price of Enhanced Autopilot after delivery temporarily, still hasn’t fixed Full Self-Driving price
