Redwood Materials expands presence in Europe, acquiring its leading Li-ion battery recycler

Less than two years after sharing expansion plans for Europe, US-based battery recycling specialist Redwood Materials is adding Germany to its map of locations. Today, the company announced the acquisition of Redux Recycling GmbH – the leading lithium ion battery recycler in the EU, as it looks to quickly expand its operations overseas.

Panasonic secures massive high-nickel cathode deal with Tesla co-founder’s Redwood

Redwood Materials, a company founded by Tesla co-founder JB Straubel, announced that it will supply high-nickel cathode material for battery cell production in Panasonic’s new Kansas plant.

The company believes that this will be the first time cathode material will be produced in North America at “Gigafactory scale”.

Volkswagen Group taps JB Straubel’s Redwood Materials for battery recycling in US

This morning, Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) announced a collaboration with Redwood Materials, Inc. to implement a battery-recycling supply chain in the United States for Volkswagen- and Audi-branded EVs. The collab represents VW’s commitment to sustainability in the United States and beyond while simultaneously expanding Redwood’s closed-loop battery supply chain.
