People are angry, cars aren’t selling, and now for the first time ever Volkswagen is likely to close one of its factories in Europe – the state-of-the-art Brussels plant that makes the Audi Q8 E-Tron.

Audi took the Q8 e-tron and turned it into an all-electric off-road machine. The Audi Q8 e-tron edition Dakar is optimized for adventurers who “want to drive off the beaten path electrically.”

Last November, Audi announced a rebranding of its flagship e-tron model to the Q8 e-tron, establishing it as its top-of-the-line EV model and solidifying its place in the c-segment without any more confusion. I recently got the opportunity to explore the added performance of both the Audi Q8 e-tron quattro and Sportback through the Redwoods and along the coast of Sonoma County in California.
