Eurobike 2023 was my first chance to check out the recently unveiled second-generation FUELL Flluid electric bikes, the Flluid-2 and Flluid-3. I was able to see both models up close and personal, and take a test ride on the Flluid 3 to see how well that new Valeo gear box motor works.

Over the weekend New York city and state officials announced that US $25 million in federal funding had been allotted for electric bike charging stations. The charging stations are part of a plan to help combat a rising number of lithium-ion battery fires in the city.

Micromobility Europe 2023 returned to Amsterdam last week for a two-day microEV extravaganza. Personal electric vehicles from all over Europe and beyond converged on the venue, bringing in e-bikes, e-scooters, e-unicycles, electric micro-cars and more. To cap off two full days of product displays, expert panels, startup pitches and more, the conference joined local cyclists in Amsterdam for a massive rave ride, complete with a DJ on a cargo e-bike blasting music along the route.

Specialized’s super lightweight electric mountain bike isn’t for you; it’s for your kids. The premium bicycle manufacturer’s newest model, the Levo SL Kids, is a slightly smaller version of its popular Levo SL electric mountain bike. It comes with a reduced frame size and 24″ wheels, among other child-friendly modifications, to get kids into the adrenaline-pumping sport of electric mountain biking.

I’ve tested a lot of folding fat tire e-bikes. They’re one of the most popular categories of low-cost e-bikes thanks to their combination of go-anywhere design and compact form factor, but I’ve never seen one quite as odd-looking as the EUY K6 Pro.

That’s thanks to its novel folding design that features a rarely seen center-axle hinge to fold the bike in half. It’s weird. It’s wild. And I’m testing it out to see what it can do.

When it comes to all of the category-defying EVs out there that earn the infamous title of Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle the Week, the utility vehicles might just be my favorite.
