Polestar is bringing the heat to this year’s Goodwood FOS with several models making their debut, including its first electric SUV, the Polestar 3, and the latest Polestar 5 prototype.

Automotive safety and autonomy specialist Luminar Technologies announced that EV automaker Polestar intends to deepen its partnership with the former by implementing its long-range Iris lidar into the upcoming Polestar 5, based on the Precept concept. Additionally, the automaker has enabled consumers pre-ordering a Polestar 3 SUV to add the Luminar lidar to their configuration starting today.

At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, Polestar will showcase multiple EVs, including a prototype of its upcoming Polestar 5 sports sedan. Joining it will be the original Precept concept that inspired the Polestar 5 as well as a limited-edition Polestar 2.

During a live event at the Classic Car Club in Manhattan, Polestar has shared its three-year business plan that includes the launch of three new EVs, including two SUVs and the Polestar 5 sports sedan. Furthermore, the Swedish automaker shared its 2021 revenue, alongside promising sales projections for 2025.

As part of its ongoing YouTube documentary series tracking the progress of the Precept concept reaching full production, Polestar has confirmed the EV will be called the Polestar 5. The third episode of Precept: from Concept to Car also offers a glimpse at the final design of the Polestar 5, which is slated for production in 2024.
