China’s leading EV maker, BYD, is expanding its presence in Europe by launching its best-selling Atto 3 and Seal in Greece. BYD said more models are launching soon.

After recently reducing prices of its refreshed Han and Tang models, Build Your Dreams (BYD) just launched a new version of its top-selling EV Yuan Plus – known as the Atto 3 in overseas markets – to $16,644 in China, making it one of the lowest-priced EVs out there.

The top-selling EV in Sweden last month was not the Volkswagen ID.4, a Volvo model, or even the Tesla Model Y. It was BYD’s Atto 3 electric SUV. The Chinese EV maker’s sales continue soaring overseas and domestically as demand for functional, affordable electric cars grows.

Having already expanded into several countries throughout Europe, Build Your Dreams (BYD) has announced that sales of its EVs will begin in the UK this quarter. As the veteran Chinese automaker continues to expand its BEV production and sales presence around the globe, we wonder if 2023 is the year that BYD Auto usurps Tesla for the top spot in global sales.

Mere months after announcing its expansion into several European markets, Chinese automaker Build Your Dreams (BYD) is making quick moves to get more of its EVs on streets overseas. German car rental company SIXT has just signed on to purchase around 100,000 EVs from BYD that will be available to rent in Europe beginning this year.
