Tesla indicates that it is about to increase the price of its Full Self-Driving package to a whopping $10,000 and yet, that’s a good deal according to Elon Musk.

Tesla is preparing to launch a new Full Self-Driving monthly subscription based on an update to its mobile app, and it is putting a deadline on the newly reintroduced Enhanced Autopilot package.

In a series of tweets today, Tesla CEO Elon Musk talked about future plans for Tesla’s Full Self-Driving capability. Notably, three weeks from now on November 1, Tesla will go through with a planned price increase for Full Self Driving software, increasing the price by $1,000.
The software currently costs $6,000 as an option on any Tesla vehicle. This cost will rise to $7,000 at the end of this month.
Tesla is again changing the pricing of its Full Self-Driving package, which is now the same price whether you order it now or later during your ownership of the vehicle.
The automaker hopes that the structure is simpler, but it still warns that the price may increase.

Tesla’s software timeline to fully autonomous driving on its new Autopilot hardware can be somewhat complicated. There’s ‘Enhanced Autopilot’, which in itself offers several different features, and there’s ‘Full Self-Driving Capability’, which despite its name will not enable self-driving for a while, but could still be useful to Tesla drivers very soon.
