Tesla released a video of its new automated charging station prototype

When Elon Musk unveiled the Dual Motor Model S in October last year, he announced that the company will be working on a robotic electric charger, a sort of “metal snake”, to automate the charging process of Tesla’s fleet. Today, Tesla released a video of the prototype at work.

Musk said at the event that it would be the first time his engineers hear about it, but 10 months later, the company seems to already have an interesting prototype.

The system is expected to make charging even easier for electric vehicle owners and could eventually be combined with Tesla’s self-parking feature.
