Zero electric motorcycle pulls over Tesla in ‘quietest police pursuit ever’

It’s hard to deny how much fun it can be to drive a Tesla. With instantaneous torque and no worries about burning a piston, who among us hasn’t put the pedal to the floor when we had the chance? Perhaps that’s why Teslas have a knack for attracting police attention.

And in a comical twist of fate, we now get to see what it looks like when a police officer on an electric motorcycle pulls over an electric vehicle.

Tesla Model 3 pulled over by a Zero DS

Zero Motorcycles recently shared a photo on their Facebook page taken by the officer on patrol.

It shows his Zero DS patrol bike after pulling over a driver in a Tesla Model 3.

According to Zero Motorcycles:

In what must have been the quietest police pursuit ever, an officer on a Zero DS police bike pulled over a Tesla.

Big thanks to a Bay Area police customer for capturing a snapshot of the future.

This is one case where the driver certainly can’t claim to have not heard the siren.

Electric vehicles becoming popular with police

Don’t be surprised to see these kind of occurrences more often. Zero produces a line of modified police patrol bikes to provide police departments with nimble yet efficient patrol vehicles.

And some police departments have been outfitting their officers with even more efficient vehicles – electric bicycles. The LAPD recently purchased 20 electric bicycles as part of a pilot program. That’s on top of the BMW i3s and Zeros already in service with the LAPD.

And as more Teslas are incorporated into police departments, we may see a Tesla pull over another Tesla sooner than you’d think.
