Tesla increased by 10 miles the estimated EPA-rated range of the Signature Model X to 250 miles

Screen Shot 2015-09-14 at 10.56.26 PMAhead of the Model X launch set for September 29th, Tesla is still tuning the options available for the configuration of its all-electric SUV.  Yesterday we wrote about how Tesla will offer hitch accessories directly at the purchase of the Model X in order to get around the limitations of the vehicle’s ‘Falcon Wing’ doors. Today we learn, through the same online design studio for early reservation holders, that Tesla increased by 10 miles the estimated EPA-rated range of the Signature Model X to 250 miles.

At the moment only the ‘Signature’ reservation holders are able to configure their order for the Model X and the ‘Signature’ Model X comes standard with the Performance Package and the 90 kWh battery pack, making the car a “P90D”.

Once the production online design studio will go live, we will have access to all the possible configurations for the Model X, including the 90D, which should have an even greater range than the P90D.

For example, The Model S 90D gets ~286 miles vs ~268 miles for the P90D.
