Tesla officially launches in Portugal today, opens Model S/X orders and announces new Superchargers

While Tesla wasn’t officially selling its vehicles in Portugal, several locals decided to import the Model S themselves and created a Tesla owners community in the country. Last year, they were pleading for the automaker to establish a presence in the Portugal and offer services. CEO Elon Musk heard the plea and shared our article about it while simply responding ‘OK’:

The company has since been making efforts to officially enter the market and met with government officials, but today they finally launched in the Portugal and opened orders for the Model S and X.

Elon Musk follows through in Portugal, Tesla officials are meeting government for a presence in the country

Earlier this year, we reported on the Tesla owners community in Portugal pleading for the automaker the establish a presence in the country and offer services. CEO Elon Musk heard the plea and shared our article writing simply ‘OK’:

Tesla owners in Portugal make a plea to the automaker for a service center and a store [Video]

The Tesla owners community in Portugal held their first meeting this weekend and published a video to make a plea to Tesla to open a service center and store in the country. The owners gathered in Lisbon, from where Tesla drivers have to travel 750 miles (1,200 km) to service their vehicles to the nearest Tesla Service Center.
