Tesla buyers now have access to Ontario’s generous $14,000 EV incentive

Ontario’s government is offering one of the most generous direct electric vehicle incentive – between $6,000 and $14,000 to support the purchase or lease of eligible battery-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

Tesla buyers had no access to this full incentive since cars with MSRPs between $75,000 and $150,000 were capped at a $3,000 incentive. The government lifted the cap this week and lowered the entry price of the Model S and X in Canada in the process.

Tesla becomes most trusted auto brand in Canada, ranks 11th in all industries

A new study shows that Tesla is successfully building its brand in Canada. The University of Victoria released its second-annual Gustavson Brand Trust Index (GBTI), which ranks national brands per industry sectors by measuring consumers’ level of trust based on a survey of 6,384 people.

Surprisingly, the results placed Tesla has the most trusted car brand in Canada.

Tesla announces 5 new Supercharger locations in eastern Canada by the end of the summer

During the Model 3 unveiling event in March, Tesla CEO Elon Musk made an important announcement curcial to the success of the Model 3: the expansion of its two networks of charging stations. He said that Tesla will double the number of Superchargers to 7,000 units and quadruple the number of Destination chargers to 15,000 units within the next 2 years.

We reported last month that the company already started expanding the Supercharger with permits or started construction at 11 new locations (~90 new Superchargers) since the unveiling event. Now Tesla announced an expansion in Canada with 5 new locations – all in eastern Canada.
