Offering superior performance, zero emissions, and a lower total cost of operation (TCO) than the diesel-powered alternatives is a given, but Xos’ latest electric medium duty chassis has one more trick up its sleeve: a competitive price tag.
Electric vehicle brand Xos says it has more blue-chip fleet customers than any other commercial EV startup – and with a client list that includes Loomis, Penske, and UPS, that might be true. And with its latest new product announcement, Xos will be able to offer those customers a stripped-down medium duty electric truck chassis with the most competitive price in the industry.
“The 2026 launch represents everything we’ve built at Xos over nearly 10 years of engineering innovation, supply chain partnerships, and manufacturing scale,” explains Dakota Semler, Chief Executive Officer of Xos.
“We’re not the newest entrant making promises,” continues Semler, “we’re a proven leader delivering results today. Our customers see it in the reliability of our vehicles, the sophistication of our telematics, and the strength of our manufacturing. At a $99,000 starting price, we’re making commercial electrification accessible at scale, showcasing our operational efficiency, our supplier partnerships, and years of experience building at scale. At Xos we aren’t just participating in this market, we’re redefining it.”
In addition to the Class 6 MD offering, the 2026 MY Xos trucks introduce enhanced over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities that optimize charging strategies and enable predictive maintenance which, when combined with industry-standard serviceable components, offers superior uptime and flexibility that (Xos says) proprietary closed systems cannot match.
Xos didn’t provide battery specs, but did mention LFP battery chemistry good for between 120 and 200 miles of range with a 23,000 lb. GVWR. You can check those out below, then let us know what you think of the new $99K truck chassis in the comments.
