Tesla quietly announced early this morning its third referral program with a chance to win a Model X P90D and a tour of the SpaceX headquarters in Los Angeles. Tesla’s referral program returns after a two-month break and very successful two initial competitions.
The company is trying something new with the latest version of the program, which will not really be a competition this time.
Tesla’s last referral program ended on December 31st and was a total success. The top referrer alone referred 188 Model S’s worth around $16 million in sales. Hundreds of referrers help sell thousands of vehicles for Tesla during the 3-month period of the program. The top referrer in each region won a fully equipped Model S P90D.
Though the same top referrers ended up winning both competitions during the third and fourth quarter (at least in Europe and Asia), which might be why Tesla is changing the format.
Now under the new referral program, which will run until April 15, there will be no leaderboard and top referrers. Each Model S owner can refer up to only 3 Model S sales. The referrals will give you a chance in a random drawing which will be held on or about April 30.
Here are the prizes of the new giveaway:
- Ludicrous P90D Model X + SpaceX Tour One lucky referrer will win a Ludicrous P90D Model X as well as a tour for two of the SpaceX headquarters in Los Angeles, including travel and accommodations. This innovative company is revolutionizing space technology. It’s the very definition of exclusive: SpaceX isn’t open to the public.
- SpaceX Tour Five referrers will win a tour for two of the SpaceX headquarters in Los Angeles, including travel and accommodations.
Also, there’s a new incentive for buyers. Instead of the $1,000 discount on the purchase of your new Model S, you get $1,200 toward the cost of your home charging installation, which in most cases should result in a free installation.
If you plan on buying a Model S, please consider using our referral code to get your free home charging installation and us the chance to win a Model X!
