Tesla vehicles arrive by the hundred in Dubai as the first store/service center is about to open

Tesla made a big deal of its launch in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. They held an event at the Armani Hotel in the Burj Khalifa tower for the occasion and CEO Elon Musk even made an appearance and gave a quick presentation.

Now 4 months later, we are starting to see the results as the first vehicles arrived and Tesla prepares to open its first permanent retail location.

Tesla signs deal to supply 200 Model S/X vehicles with ‘fully self-driving-capability’ to Dubai’s taxi company

Dubai, through the Dubai Future Foundation, has been making a push for autonomous driving technology since last year. They announced a goal to convert 25% of the city’s traffic to autonomous driving by 2030 and even unveiled a concept for an autonomous Tesla taxi.

They now plan to make that concept a reality and officially ordered 200 Model S sedans and Model X SUVs with ‘fully self-driving-capability’ from Tesla.

Tesla starts deploying Superchargers and Destination chargers in UAE as Elon Musk heads to Dubai for official launch

As we reported earlier this month, Tesla’s official launch in the United Arab Emirates is coinciding with CEO Elon Musk attending the World Government Summit in Dubai.

We now learn the location of Tesla’s first store in UAE – pictured above – and that the company is already deploying charging infrastructure – both Superchargers and Destination chargers – in the region.
