The 2025 Kia EV9 is entering the market as the Korean automaker’s second model year, providing an encore to a three-row SUV that was widely popular following its initial launch as a 2024 model. Why mess with a good thing? For the latest model year, Kia has only increased the price of one trim and now provides some new, primarily cosmetic upgrades.
The EV9 is an all-electric mid-size crossover SUV that debuted in 2023 as the second Kia model on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform. By offering 800V technology, up to 310 miles of range, and a coveted third row, the 2024 EV9 has sold well so far.
Since its US launch in December 2023, the SUV has sold over 14,000 units. Initially assembled in Korea, the EV9 began production at a new US facility in West Point, Georgia, earlier this year. With more and more US consumers flocking to the EV9 as a family-friendly EV, Kia said it is easing into localized production but will ramp up in 2025.
That ramp-up will feature the new 2025 Kia EV9, which didn’t see the sexiest of updates in its second year, but that is to be expected for such a new vehicle that remains in high demand. On the bright side, Kia has not raised prices for (most) of the 2025 trims.
Only the Light Long Range 2025 Kia EV9 sees price hike
Kia shared details of the 2025 model year EV9 this morning, which includes all the same MSRPs of the 2024 models, aside from one trim. For 2025, the Light Long Range trim sees an increase of $700. That’s not an astronomical increase by any means.
2025 model pricing is as follows:
2025 Kia EV9 Trim | Starting MSRP* |
Light Standard Range | $54,900 |
Light Long Range | $59,900 |
Wind | $63,900 |
Land | $69,900 |
GT-Line | $73,900 |
For 2025, there is a correlation between the lack of price hikes and the available upgrades, which are also minimal. The front sunroof now comes standard for the Light Long Range trim, and Kia has removed the option for the Relaxation Seat Package in the Land trim.
Kia has also revamped the available interior and exterior color options for the 2025 EV9 models:
- New Exterior colors: Glacial White Pearl, Ebony Black
- Exterior colors deleted: Ivory Silver Gloss, Ivory Silver Matte, Ocean Blue Matte
- Interior colors deleted: Dark Gray & Navy on GT-Line trim
The GT-Line is separate from the incoming Kia EV9 GT, which we’ve caught glimpses of recently, including footage of an active rear spoiler.
While this is not the most exciting model year update, the Kia EV9 remains a very young new BEV model and is expected to continue to sell well, especially with US consumers.
