Fiat is looking to make a comeback. As part of a global brand revamp, Fiat unveiled its new Grande Panda EV this week. The retro Fiat Grande Panda is expected to start at under $28,500 (£22,000) and could be coming to the US.
After showcasing five Panda-inspired concepts at the Geneva Motor Show in February, Fiat unveiled the first images of its new affordable EV last month.
As part of its 125-year celebration, Fiat officially unveiled the Panda Grande EV on Thursday, sharing new details, images, and pricing.
The Fiat Panda Grande will kick off a new generation of low-cost electric cars for the 125-year-old brand. With prices expected to start at under $28,500 (£22,000), Fiat’s new Grande Panda will be one of the most affordable EVs on the market.
Fiat says the new EV marks its return to the global mainstream market. It will be the first Panda model in the B segment.
The Grande Panda is the first of four Fiat models based on Stellantis’ Smart Car platform. Stellantis launched the Citroen e-C3 in Europe earlier this year as the first EV model to ride on the platform.
Fiat calls the new EV a “literal clone” of the first Panda. At 3.99 meters (157″) long, the Grande is even smaller than a Chevy Bolt EV (163.2″ long).
Meet the new Fiat Grande Panda EV launching globally
The new Grande EV features 3D branding as a tribute to the iconic Panda. It will be available in red, white, black, green, brown, blue, and yellow. Fiat infused “Italian personality” with a modern look that still pays homage to its past.
Inside, you will find a 10-inch cluster and a 10.25-inch digital radio. Fiat says the unique styling “calls back to the shape of the Lingotto track” on the rooftop of Fiat’s factory in Turin, Italy.

I would absolutely buy one of these vehicles! I am on my second 500L, and it is an amazing car. I adore the styling, and fiat has been very reliable. I cannot wait for fiat to introduce another vehicle that is unique and affordable.
Fiat is launching the new Grande Panda in both electric and hybrid versions. Powered by a 44 kWh battery and 83 kW electric motor, the all-electric model will offer over 195 miles (320 km) WLTP range. Fiat says this is perfect for everyday city use and weekend trips.
The new model “marks FIAT’s transition from local production to a global range.” It will launch in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Fiat said the new Grande Panda EV is also “being studied” for North America, which could include a US launch.
Fiat launched its first electric car in the US, the 500e, earlier this year. Starting at $32,500, the Fiat 500e is one of the most affordable EVs in the US. Will the new Panda Grande join it?
