The Volvo EX60 delivered more driving range in the real world, covering over 350 miles

The new Volvo EX60 has an EPA-estimated range of 312 miles, but in real-world conditions, it drove over 350 miles without stopping.

Volvo EX60 beats EPA range in the real world

Volvo calls the EX60 a “game changer” as its fastest-charging, longest-range electric vehicle to date.

In July, Volvo announced the 2027 EX60 P10 AWD received an official EPA certification with an estimated driving range of up to 330 miles, beating its own estimate of 322 miles.

When fitted with the 22″ tires, the EX60 P10 AWD Ultra boasts an EPA-estimated range of 312 miles on a single charge.

During Edmunds recent EV Range Test, the AWD electric SUV proved it can drive further than advertised.

The EX60 P10 AWD (with 22″ tires) covered 352 miles on a single charge during the test, beating its EPA-estimated 312 miles by 13%.

Volvo’s electric SUV also outperformed many luxury competitors that underwent the same test, including the Cadillac Lyriq AWD (319 miles) and Mercedes-Benz EQS+ 320 SUV (349 miles). However, it wasn’t enough to beat Mercedes’ new GLC 400 EV, which managed 392 miles.

It was also more efficient than expected, using just 28.8 kWh per 100 miles, beating its EPA-estimated 30 kWh per 100 miles.

The Edmunds EV Range Test is designed to offer a more accurate estimate of a vehicle’s range during real-world, everyday driving conditions. It consists of 60% city and 40% highway driving with an average speed of 40 mph.

The vehicle stays within 5 mph of the posted speed limit, and the climate control is set on auto at 72 degrees.

Measuring 189.1″ long, 81.4″ wide, and 64.4″ high, with a 116.9″ wheelbase, the EX60 is about the size of a Tesla Model Y.

Edmund’s range test is just not great IMO.Where someone really cares about range is long distance travel, so highway. Thus anything less then 65mph is just not what matters. A few YouTubers do it right, where they do 70-75 and they throw in a charge. Can you tell me if I drive for example Boston to NY which is about 220 -230 miles leave with 100% arrive with minimum 10-20% highway at 70mph. This is where range really matters.
