Kia’s electric van might look even cooler as a dump truck. The PV5 was made into a dump truck, and it works.

The PV5 can be whatever vehicle you want it to be. Kia introduced the new PV5 Chassis Cab in Europe and the UK last week with an open bed, enabling even more variations.
Kia showcased several conversions it will offer through TGS Automotive Group at SOLUTRANS 2025 last November.
One of the coolest was the lightweight tipper, which turns the PV5 into a mini (or decent-sized) dump truck.
If you’ve ever worked in construction or landscaping, you know how useful a dump truck can be. The lightweight, aluminum tipper trailer was developed specifically for the Kia PV5 Chassis Cab.
The PV5 dump truck includes lightweight aluminum sideboards and a 300 mm high tailgate with folding aluminum rear stakes.
Kia showcased other PV5 Chassis Cab conversion models at the event, including a lightweight camper with a full kitchen and a food truck.

The PV5 Chassis Cab will go on sale in the UK exclusively with the long-range 71.2 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 258 miles (416 km). Other places will also have a standard-range 51.1 kWh battery version.
With DC fast charging of up to 120 kW, the vehicle’s battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. With an 11 kW AC supply, it takes about 6 hours and 30 minutes to fully recharge.
The final range and payload depend on the conversion, but Kia said the PV5 Chassis Cab offers a “best-in-class” payload of up to 1,005 kg (2,200 lbs).
Unlike most dump trucks, it also has a “best-in-class” 5.5-meter turning radius, Kia said, making it easier to maneuver in tight city streets or construction sites.
Kia will launch the PV5 Chassis Cab in the UK and Europe over the next few months. Prices and availability will vary by region.
The Chassis Cab isn’t the only variant in the works. Kia announced at its PBV Production Hub Tech Day last month that it plans to expand the PV5 lineup to 10 body types. Next year, it will launch the larger PV7, the second electric van from its PBV lineup.
