Kia has expanded its PV5 electric van lineup to 10 body styles, including a new 7-seater and more.
What body styles does Kia offer for the PV5?
The PV5 is basically the closest thing we have to a real-life transformer. After it went on sale in late 2025, Kia’s electric van has become something of a global sensation.
It’s already the best-selling small electric van in Europe and among the most popular EVs in Korea, but Kia has much more on the way.
During its PBV Production Hub Tech Day on Wednesday, Kia offered a sneak peek at what’s to come.
The PV5 is a small- to midsize electric van and the first model from Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle Business (PBV) lineup.
Built on a dedicated modular skateboard platform called E-GMP.S, Kia can easily swap body styles to build unique configurations, enabling “limitless possibilities.” You can think of it sort of like puzzle pieces or Legos.
Kia announced during the event that it now offers 10 different PV5 body styles. Earlier this month, it expanded the lineup with the new PV5 Prime, Passenger 5-seater (1-2-2), Passenger 7-seater (2-2-3), Cargo Compact, and Chassis Cab Donor models.
Through the first eight months of 2026, Kia has sold over 39,000 PV5s globally, but over the next few months, it plans to rapidly expand its PBV strategy.
Kia will reveal the PV7 on Monday, September 14, at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany, a larger sibling to the PV5.
We got a sneak peek last week after Kia previewed the PV7 for the first time. We will learn the full details next week, but Kia said there is “continuous interest” in the larger electric van and that it’s already receiving local inquiries.
The PV7 will join the PV5, which is in mass production at Kia’s dedicated Hwaseong EVO Plant in South Korea.
Kia will build large-scale electrified PBVs at the facility, including the PV7 and an even larger PV9, due to arrive around 2030. The dedicated plant can produce up to 200,000 electric vans annually.
Like the PV5, the PV7 will be offered in different body styles, including Passenger and Cargo versions.
Kia plans to introduce several PV7 conversion models, similar to the PV5 Prime, Open Bed, Crew Van, Refrigerated Truck, and others.
Details have yet to be officially revealed, but the PV7 concept measured 5,270 mm in length, 2,065 mm in width, and 2,120 mm in height, with a 3,390 mm wheelbase.
In comparison, the PV5 Passenger measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,915 mm in height, with a 2,995 mm wheelbase.
