After someone spotted an updated blue Tesla Model 3 release candidate, we were wondering if it’s actually a new unit or just an updated version of the last blue release candidate.

Now we can finally confirm that a third Model 3 release candidate is being tested on public roads since a white prototype has been spotted.

It was spotted on the 280 highway near San Bruno in the Bay Area by Instagram user robinadastra:

Omg! I had a heart racing, using my phone while driving, fan girl moment on my commute home because I was driving behind an unmarked Model 3 – and it’s my color! It looked even better from the front from the view I got when I passed it.

While she passed him and got a look at the front, she could only get a picture of the back.

From the back, it almost looks like a Model X, but there are a few trims missing that tells us it definitely a Model 3. Update: we also added a picture sent to us by Ramon Alvarado:

As you can see from the second picture, the vehicle doesn’t have manufacturer plates or any plates at all – unlike the previous release candidate spotted, but it was added later as you can see and new picture in the update.

It makes the third Model 3 release candidate spotted and the third different color: black, blue and now white. There’s been a lot of speculations about the color that will be available lately.

As we like to remind everyone when we spot the Model 3 release candidates, the vehicles are being tested with different prototypes at different stages of readiness and therefore, we need to be careful before assuming that certain features will be in the production version, which is still expected to be released in July.

The blue release candidate was also spotted yesterday testing around Palo Alto:

Nothing new to report on this one other than tape running along the doorsill – likely for wind testing and cabin noises.
