Tesla Model 3 prototype goes on rare outing during solar roof event [Gallery]

We are still digesting the event that Tesla held last night. The solar roof products are undoubtedly stunning, but we are disappointed by the lack of details about pricing and the absence of the “integrated” aspect with the Powerwall 2 and new Tesla charger that didn’t end up being unveiled – more on that later.

But we got a rare look at one of the working Tesla Model 3 prototypes. These outings are always appreciated by reservations holders so we’ve put together a quick gallery of the vehicle.

The prototype appears to be the same silver Model 3 prototype that has been spotted on a few occasions since the unveiling event in March.

Here are the last sightings:

Jamie got close to the prototype and tried to capture it under new angles like the front end from the ground, which you can see below. It doesn’t look the particular prototype was updated since Tesla confirmed the pencil down on the design of the Model 3, but let us know in the comment section below if you see anything new.

Here’s a quick gallery of the Model 3 prototype at the event via Tesla and Jameson Dow:

The vehicle was displayed alongside Radio Flyer’s ‘Tesla for Kids’, Tesla’s Tuscan Glass Tile solar roof, a Powerwall 2, and you can also see a Model X in the background.

Earlier this week, Tesla gave a quick update on the progress of the Model 3. The company said that production line layout is completed and that they are now testing subsystems for the vehicle. CEO Elon Musk says that he is confident Tesla will achieve volume production in late-2017.
