Unless you had the chance to be at the unveiling event in September or you know one of the lucky few early ‘Founder Series’ or ‘Signature Series’ Model X owners, you probably never had the chance to sit or drive Tesla’s new all-electric SUV.
But we now learn that Tesla is letting more people have access to the vehicle through its ‘Meet Model X’ events. The company regularly holds similar events for the Model S.
Tesla is limiting the invitations to Model X reservation holders, presumably to help convert these reservations into orders, and it seems the automaker is seeing a lot of demand even if the invitations are limited to reservation holders. The first event reportedly reached capacity within an hour.
The company is going to hold the event next Friday at the customer delivery center of Tesla’s Fremont factory.
Tesla says it will be hosting another preview event for those who couldn’t get in. It’s safe to assume that the company will hold more similar events in more locations in the future, just like it does for the Model S.
In the meantime, until you can get first-hand experience with the vehicle, this might be one of the best preview videos of the Model X (despite the sound):
