Typically, Tesla forbids video and photo during factory tours, on occasion only granting permission to professional camera crews for preplanned shoots. Recently, however, an individual was allowed to capture some impromptu images during his visit.
The images by Jean Lemieux of the French-Canadian publication, Car Guide, give us a rare candid look into the Tesla Factory. Without the flashy production value associated with a film crew, Jean’s video is the closest representation we’ve seen to what it is like to visit the Fremont plant. Featuring shots from the catwalk over Tesla’s giant aluminum stamping machine, and of some of the highly automated sections of the factory, the video also gives us some of the first known images of the new Model X assembly line in action.
