Tesla Pickup Truck imagined by rendering artist [Gallery]

After looking at the ‘Tesla Allterrain’ concept to help us imagine Tesla’s upcoming pickup truck, we now look to an artist rendering based on the defunct GMC Denali XT concept.

Tobias Buttner used images of the GMC Denali XT, a concept unveiled by GM back in 2008 that never made it to production, added a Tesla-inspired front fascia, Tesla badging, and few more design details like door handles and headlights.

The result is what he imagines the Tesla Pickup truck could look like.

When CEO Elon Musk confirmed last week that Tesla will bring a pickup truck to market, he said that it will be “a new kind of pickup”, and I doubt he simply means that it will be battery-powered.

Here’s the concept (pictures via AutoGuide)

I’m not sure if it’s different enough to be considered “a new kind of pickup”. Actually , I don’t think so, but I still like it.

With an air suspension capable of bringing the platform down for highway driving and taking advantage of a low center of gravity with a heavy battery pack, but still keeping it up for good clearance when needed. I could see a concept like this one being a successful all-electric pickup truck program.

Maybe with some active aerodynamic features?

Let us know what you think about this concept in the comment section below.
