Kia’s bigger PV7 electric van caught in action, making the PV5 seem small

The PV7 was spotted testing days after Kia previewed the larger electric van for the first time, and it makes the PV5 seem tiny.

Kia’s first electric van is selling like hotcakes. The PV5 was the top-selling small electric van in Europe in the first half of 2026, accounting for over 50% of sales in its segment in five countries. Overall, it accounts for 37% of Europe’s C-segment EV van market.

With the PV7 set to debut this month, the larger van may be an even “bigger” hit. Kia previewed the PV7 for the first time on Monday in a set of images and a video where it was still partially covered.

While you couldn’t see the entire length, one thing is clear: The PV7 is noticeably longer than the PV5.

Kia will reveal the PV7 in full at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany, on September 14, but we are already getting a look at it in action.

The electric van was caught testing in Europe for the first time ahead of its debut. New spy images from Motor.es reveal the PV7’s true size as Kia finalizes testing. The PV7 was spotted on public roads in Europe while towing a test trailer.

While we will learn final details later this month, we do know the PV7 will be based on the same E-GMP.S platform as the PV5.

It will be offered in several body types, such as Passenger and Cargo, for business and personal use.

Inside, it’s expected to feature a similar setup to the PV5, with a 12.9″ infotainment screen and Kia’s dedicated PBV software powered by Hyundai Pleos.

According to Motor.es, the PV7 will use an NMC battery with over 70 kWh capacity, which is expected to provide a WLTP range of at least 350 km (217 miles).

The PV5 Passenger is available with two NMC battery packs: 51.5 kWh and 71.2 kWh. The former has a WLTP range of up to 295 km (183 miles), while the latter is rated at 412 km (256 miles).

To give you a better idea of its size, the PV7 concept from CES 2024 measured 5,270 mm in length, 2,065 mm in width, and 2,120 mm in height, with a 3,390 mm wheelbase. In comparison, the PV5 Passenger measures just 4,695 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,915 mm in height, with a 2,995 mm wheelbase.

A few weeks ago, the PV7 was spotted on a car carrier in Korea by HealerTV (shown in the video above), offering a good look at its size. The electric van’s wheelbase looks nearly the same size as the truck it’s sitting on.
