Subaru upgraded its electric SUV in just about every way you could think of for the 2026 model year with a longer driving range, added power, a refined style, and an NACS charge port.

The 2027 Solterra remains mostly a carryover model, but Subaru announced it will go on sale this fall at the same starting price of $38,495 as the 2025 model.

Like the current Solterra, the 2027 model will be available in four trims: Premium, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT.

The XT models are equipped with an upgraded version of Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, delivering a combined 338 hp and 323 lb-ft of torque.

Subaru said the added power enables it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 5 seconds. The setup also provides “best-in-class” ground clearance of 8.3″, according to Subaru.

While the standard Premium and Limited trims also use dual electric motors, the setup provides slightly less power at 233 hp.

All 2027 Subaru Solterra trims are powered by a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides an estimated electric driving range of up to 288 miles, a considerable improvement over the 2025 Solterra’s 227 miles.

The new Solterra shares a platform with the upgraded Toyota bZ. Like the bZ, all 2027 Subaru Solterra models come with a built-in NACS charge port, unlocking access to over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America.

Subaru’s electric SUV features a new battery preconditioning system that improves charging times in both warm and cold climates. The 2027 Solterra can fast charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

Inside, all 2027 Solterra trims feature a 14″ touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Regarding ADAS features, the Solterra is equipped with Subaru EyeSight driver-assist tech. Subaru’s system offers safety and convenience features including: Emergency Steering Assist, Collision Avoidance Assist with Automatic Steering, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Alert and Prevention, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Emergency Stop Assist.

The 2027 Subaru Solterra is available in six exterior colors: Harbor Mist Gray Pearl, Elemental Red Pearl, Cosmic White Pearl, Astro Black Mica, Smoked Carbon, and Midnight Tide Mica.

Starting at $45,855, the 2027 Subaru Solterra Touring XT includes premium features such as a panoramic glass roof with motorized sunshades, ventilated front seats, radiant leg heaters for the driver and front passenger, and a digital rearview mirror with a camera washer.
