America’s most affordable EV offering over 315 miles of range, as GM calls it, just got way more expensive to lease this month.
Chevy Equinox EV lease prices climb in June
Just two months ago, you could score a $10,000 discount, or 20% off a new 2026 Chevy Equinox EV.
After cutting it last month, Chevy was offering up to $5,000 in total customer cash. This month, we only get a $1,000 cash allowance on select Equinox EVs, which excludes the most affordable LT 1 trim.
The electric Equinox was also available with 0% APR financing for 60 months. Now, Chevy is offering a 2.9% APR rate for 36 months.
On Chevy’s website, the 2026 Equinox EV FWD LT2 is listed at $529 per month for 36 months. With $4,729 due at signing, you’ll end up paying an effective cost of $650 a month.
Even the base FWD LT1 model is significantly more expensive this month. In April, the Chevy Equinox EV FWD LT1 was available to lease for $269 a month for 39 months. With $3,659 due at signing, the effective rate was $362 a month. Not terrible.

Using Chevy’s payment calculator, with the same $3,659 down, a 39-month lease will cost you $554 per month this June for the same vehicle.
While the Equinox EV is more expensive to lease this month, the new 2027 Chevy Bolt is a bit cheaper for Costco members.

Chevy introduced a new $1,000 incentive for Costco non-executive members ($1,250 for executive members) this month toward the purchase or lease of a new 2027 Bolt.
While the Bolt has a lower starting price of $28,595, it’s also now cheaper to lease than the Equinox. With $3,659 down, a 39-month lease costs just $411 per month for the base 2027 Chevy Bolt EV FWD LT, or $143 less per month than the Equinox.

Is it worth it? Obviously, the Equinox is bigger, offering more interior space, more power, and a longer driving range.
The cheapest 2026 Chevy Equinox EV LT 1 FWD, starting at 36,495, offers up to 319 miles of range, compared to 262 miles for the 2027 Bolt.
| 2026 Chevy Equinox EV trim | Starting Price* | EPA-estimated Range |
| LT 1 FWD | $36,495 | 319 miles |
| LT 1 AWD | $39,795 | 307 miles |
| LT 2 FWD | $43,295 | 319 miles |
| LT 2 AWD | $46,595 | 307 miles |
| RS FWD | $45,595 | 319 miles |
| RS AWD | $48,895 | 307 miles |
The Equinox offers more interior space, with up to 102 cubic feet of total passenger volume, compared to the Bolt, which has about 96.6 cubic feet.
Inside, the Equinox EV features a 17.7″ touchscreen infotainment, the largest in its class. The Bolt has an 11.3″ display.

While the new 2027 Chevy Bolt EV is only available with a front-wheel-drive powertrain, the Equinox also offers all-wheel drive.
Depending on what you are looking for, both are pretty solid options. However, it’s still hard to top the Hyundai IONIQ 5 (shown below) right now.

Hyundai is still offering a $7,000 discount on all 2026 IONIQ 5 models with leases starting as low as $259 per month for 24 months. With $3,999 due at signing, the effective rate is $425 per month.
| 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Trim | Driving Range (miles) | Starting Price* | 2026 Monthly Lease Price in June |
| IONIQ 5 SE RWD Standard Range | 245 miles | $36,600 | $259 |
| IONIQ 5 SE RWD | 318 miles | $39,100 | $269 |
| IONIQ 5 SEL RWD | 318 miles | $41,400 | $309 |
| IONIQ 5 Limited RWD | 318 miles | $46,675 | $399 |
| IONIQ 5 SE Dual Motor AWD | 290 miles | $42,600 | $339 |
| IONIQ 5 SEL Dual Motor AWD | 290 miles | $44,900 | $379 |
| IONIQ 5 XRT Dual Motor AWD | 259 miles | $47,875 | $419 |
| IONIQ 5 Limited Dual Motor AWD | 269 miles | $50,575 | $469 |
That’s for the standard-range model, which starts at $36,600 and offers a driving range of up to 245 miles. Upgrading to the long-range IONIQ 5 SE RWD, with up to 318 miles of range, costs just $10 more per month to lease and starts at $39,100.
Even the Tesla Model Y is cheaper to lease this month than the Equinox EV, starting at $459 per month for 36 months with $4,155 due at signing.
