Honda wants to bring out the inner camper in all of us with a new “competitively priced” travel trailer. The Base Station Prototype, revealed on Wednesday, is designed to be towed by nearly any vehicle, including EVs.

The Base Station Prototype is “an entirely new towable travel trailer,” Honda said after revealing it for the first time on Wednesday.
Honda’s engineers and designers in California and Ohio, the same ones behind the Motocompacto e-scooter, created the futuristic prototype to “democratize outdoor adventures” with a lightweight design and affordable price.
According to Honda, the travel trailer is designed to be towed by some of the most popular vehicles in America, like the CR-V and Toyota RAV4, as well as EVs such as the Prologue and upcoming 0 Series electric SUV.
Although no specifics were mentioned, Honda promises the Base Station will be “competitively priced” in the lightweight travel trailer segment.
“We designed it to make camping more accessible and enjoyable for families across America,” Jane Nakagawa, vice president of American Honda’s R&D Business Unit, said.
The prototype is based on Honda’s “Man Maximimum/ Machine Minimum ” design theme, which aims to optimize space in a smaller, more efficient package. As a result, Honda said the travel trailer can fit in an average garage or parking space.
Despite its compact design, the interior is “open, spacious, airy and bright,” with five huge side windows that can be completely removed.
The travel trailer can extend to create 7 feet of stand-up space, and the rear tailgate opens to create an additional covered outdoor area.

Sounds interesting and I could handle an exterior kitchen. However, a toilet would be a must; and if you have that then an indoor shower is possible too (because you make it a "wet room") ... it can be a small room.
Honda said the travel trailer has enough room for a family of four, with a large couch that folds out into a queen-size bed and an optional bunk bed. The travel trailer features air conditioning, an outdoor shower, and an exterior kitchen with running water and a cooktop.
For those looking to get off the grid, the Honda Base Station is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, inverter, and built-in solar panels to enable zero-emissions power.
While Honda didn’t reveal final prices, the company told Car and Driver it’s aiming for the middle of the segment, suggesting a price range of $20,000 to $40,000.
