Electrified marine technology leaders Vita and Evoy combine forces

Electric marine experts Vita and Evoy have announced plans to unite their respective businesses in order to “consolidate their leading positions in the high-output space.” The two companies bring together a wealth of experience in all-electric propulsion and powertrain technology in the marine segment.

We cover only a little of the marine mobility segment as it is only truly starting to get electrified. However, the pace at which that transition is happening is certainly encouraging. While not all marine OEMs are going electric, companies like Vita and Evoy have helped bring an exciting new level of sustainability to seaward travel.

Vita may ring a bell, as we’ve covered the marine technology company’s advanced powertrains, specifically its collaboration with Maserati and its all-electric TRIDENTE day boat. Vita is also a partner with marine fast-charging developer Aqua superPower.

Evoy is a new name for many of you readers, but as one of the current leaders in performance inboard and outboard electric boat motor systems, it is one to remember… that is unless there’s a name change following today’s news of Evoy’s business integration with Vita.

Vita and Evoy team up to further electrify the marine space

Both Vita and Evoy shared details of their company integration earlier today. The new venture aims to establish itself as Europe’s leader in high-power electric inboard and outboard marine propulsion.

By combining businesses and technologies, Vita and Evoy say they will be able to scale more quickly, resulting in lower prices for consumers, thus expediting electrified marine adoption while expanding to new markets in Europe and North America. Per the release:

The combination of Vita’s experience integrating high-performance electric propulsion into a diverse portfolio of vessels from commercial RIBs to superyacht tenders with Evoy’s best-in-class, plug-and-play, powertrain technology and scalable production platform will allow the new group to leverage fourteen years of combined experience. Together, Vita and Evoy are positioned to deliver market-leading products — building on the shared belief that high-output systems with DC-charging capability present the most robust solutions for the widest range of marine applications.

The companies also shared that the newly founded marine technology group will benefit from a financing round led by existing Vita shareholders and Evoy investors. It is unclear whether the union includes a name change or whether both Vita and Evoy will continue operations as separate entities under the same larger group umbrella.
