First look at the new Tesla Model S/X interior finish

A few weeks ago, we reported on Tesla introducing a few minor updates to the Model S and Model X interior with a new finish option.

The first vehicles with the new finish have now been produced and we’re now getting our first look at the new interior.

As we previously reported, the main update is a darker graphite finish is now used on most interior accent trim pieces in those vehicles, which applies to all interior options.

Tesla also added a new finish option called ‘Oak Décor’ that comes with the ‘Cream Premium’ interior option.

The finish is a bit lighter than what was previously offered in that interior option package.

Here’s a look at the new interior with pictures via Aspecphotography on Reddit and Teslareadyuk on Instagram:

The darker graphite trims are now in production for Model S and Model X while the new ‘Oak Décor’ finish is available as an option with all non-performance Model S and Model X vehicles.

Electrek’s Take

While I’m indifferent to the new graphite trims, I am not a fan of the new ‘Oak Décor’ finish that comes with the ‘Cream Premium’ interior option.

I think the contrast with the black dash is too strong and it was easier on the eye with a slightly darker wood finish.

But with this said, that’s completely subjective and I can see why some people would like it and why Tesla would offer it since most other interior options blend together more easily. It makes the contrast of this one more different.
