There are not many Tesla vehicles getting more use than Bjorn Nyland’s Model X. The longtime Tesla owner and YouTuber is always traveling with the vehicle around Europe and especially in Norway, where he lives.
But the vehicle has taking an even greater beating than usual in recent weeks as he started going off-road with the Model X and doing tug of war challenges with other large SUVs.
Bjorn’s videos are often comprehensive and informative about the ownership experience for Tesla owners and enthusiasts, but they have become a little more extreme lately.
He even had to increasingly use a disclaimer for his videos:
“Disclaimer: Don’t try this yourself. Tesla might void your warranty.”
And the result is that his Model X, a rare Founder series that he won through Tesla’s referral program, is taking quite a few beatings.
First off, here’s a tug of war with a Toyota Land Cruiser, which it easily won:
To be fair, there are other things at play in a tug of war beyond just power. Traction is the main factor and it can be affected by the terrain and the tires.
In this case, it looks like the Land Rover had studless winter tires against a heavier Model X with studded winter tires.
He found a much tougher opponent in a Hummer H2 with studded tires and about 1,300 lbs more weight:
The Model X’s power and torque was still able to put up a good fight. Here’s the video:
But that’s not it for Bjorn’s Model X, nicknamed Optimus Prime. He also recently took it off-roading in NAF Trafikksenter, Våler, Norway.
That looks tough on a $100,000 luxury SUV, but it does make for some good videos for our enjoyment.
