After delivering only a few hundreds Model X’s late last year, there’s been doubts about the current state of production ramp up of Tesla’s new all-electric SUV. We now learn that several reservation holders who turned their reservations into orders are now receiving Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) as high as 5,000 and up, which could indicate a significant acceleration of the production ramp up.

After recent reports of Signature Model X’s making it across the country, we knew it was imminent, but now it’s official. Tesla delivered the Signature Series Model X #1 to the first reservation holder at the Tesla Fremont factory yesterday.

A new Tesla Model X was spotted at the Syosset service center in Long Island yesterday. A Tesla forum member posted some pictures to PlugShare and claims the VIN number was for a Signature Series #664, which would indicate that Tesla started deliveries of the Model X beyond the initial few “Founders Series”.
