Apple talks with Mercedes, Ford, Tesla, and more detailed in new in-depth Apple Car report

As you may be familiar with by now, Apple has officially canceled its project to build an electric car. The project never saw the light of day and wasn’t even confirmed by Apple, but the company had been working on its own car since 2014. Following reports that Apple had approached Tesla for a partnership, we now know that the company has also talked to Mercedes-Benz about building an Apple Car together, per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Apple loses veteran hardware engineering executive to Rivian

Apple veteran DJ Novotney is departing the company for a new role at Rivian, according to a report from Bloomberg. Novotney, a vice president of hardware engineering, has spent almost 25 years at Apple and worked across multiple generations of the iPod, the iPhone, the Apple Watch, and more. His LinkedIn page hasn’t yet been updated, but he is shown pictured next to a Rivian.

Tim Cook responds to Elon Musk claim that Tesla wanted to sell to Apple (while dodging car question)
